This is the solution for taking your Capra to the next level if you’re planning on or have replaced the transmission with a 3 gear style transmission.
We have tested both drag axle and rear steer setups with our rails and links.
The Hot Line 3 gear Capra solution includes chassis rails, battery mount, velcro battery strap, skid, sliders, cage mounts and links. The only thing you’ll need to source are the driveshafts which we’ve listed lengths you’ll need at the end of the description.
Each chassis rail set is made from 3mm carbon fiber, this includes both rails and a battery tray that fits up front. Â We also include a velcro strap the secure the battery because dimensions are tight and we’ve packed the 3 gear high and tight to get you the most clearance on the skid.
Our skids, sliders and rail to cage adapters are all 3d printed using Nylon 12 through MJF technology which has high resolution and has consistent isotropic mechanical properties. This creates a clean finish with good strength and thermal properties. This is definitely not the cheapest option for 3d printing, but we felt like delivering the best quality product while keeping cost in mind was the right direction.
The Hot Line 3 gear Capra includes a skid to mount a 3 gear style transmission. We have test fit a factory Axial 3 gear transmissions along with a Vanquish Products 3 gear transmission to verify fitment of each. If you are using a different 3 gear transmission we have not verified fitment of anything else. Â Each skid will included hardware to mount the lower links as well as mount the transmission to the skid.

Chassis and skid kit: $155
The Chassis and skid kit includes chassis rails, battery tray, velcro battery strap, 3 gear transmission skid, 70mm chassis standoff that mounts between the rear chassis mounting location and all extra hardware that’s needed.
Slider options:
Hi slider: $25
These sliders offer the most slider clearance.
Mid Slider: $25
These sliders offer good slider clearance but also great styling. Â This is a great way to complete the look of the Capra cage.
Lo Slider: $25
These sliders off less slider clearance and also provide an opportunity to retain a trimmed side panel to complete the look of a Capra.
Capra cage Mounting kit: $25
This kit includes:
Front rail to cage adapters that mimic the factory style cage and mount between the Capra cage and front chassis rails.
Rear rail to cage adapters that space the factory cage correctly on the chassis rails.
Rear cage completion bar, this replaces the rear tube on the factory cage to provide a clean finished look.
Link kit: $65
This kit includes 3/16″ Titanium links that you’ll reuse your factory rod ends on.
We’ve set the wheelbase to ~12.8″ but can be adjusted using optional mounting holes and slightly adjusting rod end engagement if desired.
Hurtz dig angled micro servo mount:$15
This is a carbon fiber micro dig mount for the Vanquish Products Hurtz dig. Â Save weight and look great with a carbon micro dig mount instead of the big bulky aluminum mount for a full sized dig servo.
Driveshaft lengths:
3 gear front with or without dig collapsed-extended: 84-90mm
3 gear rear without dig collapsed-extended: 178-182mm
3 gear rear with hurtz dig collapsed-extended: 158-162
We suggest using cut to length drive shafts from companies like Exo EXO titanium cut to length driveshaft or Dlux fab Dlux Fab cut to length chromo driveshaft
There are cheaper options on sites like Amazon or eBay as well.
Battery tray area:
70mm x 36mm x 30mm
We suggest looking for batteries slightly smaller then these dimensions to allow a little space in the battery tray area. Â We’ve fit up to 1500mah 3s with success.
